I don’t know that we will go back any time soon to Great Wolf Lodge. The tadpole splash pad water was super cold and the next level up had water spraying everywhere that really upset him- I don’t blame him- I like the play without constantly having water in my eyes. The water park just didn’t have a whole lot of things for younger kids/toddlers to do. My son loved the story time and clock show. My husband and I only decided on the trip after we both have finished our COVID vaccination series but I can tell you we would have left soon after check in had that not been the case. The water park was overcrowded, with slightly green water and no one was really wearing masks places other than the initial check in. That alone makes $350 a night an atrocious cost. Apparently though it states this on the website that check in starts at 4pm but there is no guarantee rooms will be clean by then due to COVID policy of only one housekeeper per room. He shuffled things around and found us a similar room that was clean. I hate complaining but with a wet toddler there was no way we were just going to hang out waiting for a room. Initially the gentleman at check in told us he couldn’t give us any estimate of when the room would be ready, maybe even later than 6pm. We went to the water park while waiting for our room to be ready- by 4:30pm we still didn’t have a room. You can check in early for wristbands although the long line at check in took us nearly 45 minutes to wait through. Spent one night and it was an ok experience but definitely not worth the $350 we ended up spending. We had a “meh” time here with our 2 year old. The lifeguards in the water park were all very nice along with a gentleman who let my 3 year old have a courtesy ride on the merry go round in the arcade. I get that these are really hard times for businesses but you shouldn’t say you are taking and enforcing precautions when you are not. The water park was impossible for distancing and they would have needed to limit occupancy in order to do so. The luggage carts were not being sanitized after each use. The COVID precautions appear to just be for show as there was not social distancing anywhere except for the Lodge Grille and check in line for the lobby. The refrigerator also smelled like fish so we couldn’t use it making having a condo a little useless. It really makes you wonder what was cleaned at all. I know it’s hard to get people to work right now but if rooms can’t be turned over properly it isn’t helping anyone because we wouldn’t come back. There was sticky stuff on the counters in the bathroom and kitchen and the toilet had scum all over in the bowl. He finished up but the room was not clean at all. When we got there the housekeeper said it was not ready and they shouldn’t have told us that it was but he was almost done. I received a text about 45 minutes later that it was ready. Our room was not clean upon arrival so we waited and looked around.
